Visual artist Arjan van Gent (b. 1970) has a great passion besides painting, drawing and teaching: writing stories. Both aspects are amply covered in this richly illustrated, 76-page book. While the paintings and drawings are very realistic in nature, the same applies to the stories. With great feeling for detail, the ups and downs of his four cats Vossie, Nina, Lola and Ziggy are characterized. Moments of joy, emotion and hilarity are interspersed with also the tragic downside of life with 'children with fur'. This homage to the cat is a must for every art and cat lover who will undoubtedly recognize himself in many of the stories.
