Wall of Fame
Wall of Fame is my ongoing series of portraits of international icons from music, sports and culture.
Since 2017, the series has grown to more than 115 works, executed in my characteristic mixed technique with Artgraf (Tailor Shape watercolour pigment tablets) and pencil on museum board.
The series is a personal tribute to figures who have shaped my life and work - and at the same time an autonomous body of work that has now found its way into private collections at home and abroad.
Various original works are available. In addition, a high-quality limited edition giclée print can be produced of each portrait.
It is also possible to have a portrait realized on commission in a comparable technique.

Technique
The portraits in the Wall of Fame series are executed in my characteristic mixed technique with Artgraf and coloured pencil on hand-prepared, acid-free 400 gsm museum board.
The museum board is coloured and built up by me in transparent layers, creating a warm, layered undertone that refers to painting techniques from the early Renaissance.
The combination of painterly tonality and refined linework results in a subdued, timeless appearance in which character and vulnerability are central.
This technique makes it possible to combine a high degree of detail with an almost classical monumentality - even in relatively modest formats.
